The Power of the Venue: Building Relationships That Shape the Wedding Industry
The Tahoe Wedding Industry Group (TWIG) was honored to welcome Fausto Pifferrer, Co-Founder of Blue Elephant Events & Catering and Maine Venue Partners, Co-Owner of Real Maine Weddings magazine, author, educator, and longtime wedding industry leader, as our featured guest speaker.
Hosted at Aspen Grove at Incline Village Weddings & Events, the gathering brought together wedding professionals from across the Tahoe region for an inspiring day of education, connection, and community.
The Power of the Venue
Fausto’s presentation, “The Power of the Venue: Learn Why Venues Influence Who Gets Hired and How to Build Relationships,” offered a thought-provoking look at one of the most important forces in the wedding and events industry: relationships.
Through his concept of Preferred Professional Currency (PPC), Fausto encouraged attendees to think differently about their professional networks—not simply as a collection of contacts, but as relationships built on trust, goodwill, generosity, and shared opportunity.
The conversation explored how venues can play a particularly influential role in determining which professionals are brought into an event ecosystem and, more importantly, how vendors can build the kind of relationships that lead to lasting professional partnerships.
Attendees were encouraged to consider:
- Who is part of their Preferred Professional Currency network?
- How can they strengthen the relationships they already have?
- What value do they bring to their professional community?
- How can they thoughtfully create opportunities for other industry professionals?
- What does it look like to build a trusted network where everyone contributes value?
The takeaway was clear: our industry becomes stronger when we invest in one another.
The Power of Community
One of the most meaningful aspects of the gathering was the opportunity for Tahoe wedding professionals to connect beyond their individual businesses.
From venues and planners to photographers, florists, rental companies, musicians, caterers, and specialty event partners, the gathering represented the incredible breadth and creativity of the Tahoe wedding community.
TWIG exists to create opportunities for these professionals to learn from one another, develop meaningful relationships, share resources, and ultimately elevate the wedding experience throughout the Tahoe region.
Events like this remind us that collaboration isn’t simply good for business—it strengthens the entire destination wedding community.

Building a Stronger Tahoe Wedding Community
To everyone who joined us, shared the gathering with your own communities, contributed to the conversation, welcomed Fausto so enthusiastically, and continues to invest in the Tahoe wedding industry: thank you.
The strength of Tahoe’s wedding community comes from the people behind it. Every introduction, referral, collaboration, shared resource, and act of generosity adds to the professional currency we collectively create.
As Fausto reminded us, relationships have real value.
When we build those relationships with intention, trust, and generosity, everyone benefits—and the entire Tahoe wedding industry becomes stronger.
